  1. Oh my - doesn't the picture in that ad look like our old piano! Some differences but very similar. We never did figure out the year it was made.

  2. Thank you, Mum! Yes, our old piano was alot like this one... That was a sturdy old thing. Remember the woodwork with the lion's head? I can't believe the conditions it survived --the old shed, the cold parlor and then the basement! My Steinway wouldn't hold up so well, I'm sure. It doesn't like this cold, dry winter, so we have a humidifier puffing out vapor to help. The G loses most of it's wonky tone when we get over 35% humidity, though I can still detect tone issues in a couple other keys. (Ideally, a piano should be kept around 40%.) I thought you'd get a kick out of this old ad -- thanks for visiting my blog!
